Deck overview

This Dimir deck pairs evasive, unblockable creatures with the entire suite of Dimir Cipher spells and spellcast payoffs. Early turns focus on establishing cheap attackers like Invisible Stalker and Dimir Infiltrator alongside early mana rocks. In the midgame, the deck casts and encodes Cipher spells such as Hidden Strings, Last Thoughts, and Stolen Identity. Because Cipher casts a copy of the encoded spell each time the creature deals combat damage, every successful attack triggers spellcast engines like Talrand, Sky Summoner, Deekah, Fractal Theorist, and Chrome Host Seedshark without spending additional mana. Commander Xanathar, Guild Kingpin provides late-game topdeck control and selective spell suppression against the most dangerous opponent. The deck wins by grinding down the table with an evasive flying army and combat-triggered value rather than fast infinite combos. While resilient against targeted ground defense, the plan requires multiple combat steps and remains vulnerable to sweepers that remove encoded attackers.
