Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet spellslinger strategy led by Vivi Ornitier. Vivi acts as both the primary win condition and an exponential mana engine. By casting cheap noncreature spells, you place +1/+1 counters on Vivi, deal damage to all opponents simultaneously, and generate bursts of colored mana with Vivi's zero-mana activation. The deck surrounds Vivi with low-cost cantrips, cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor, and secondary burn payoffs such as Guttersnipe and Firebrand Archer. A dense suite of countermagic and interaction—including free defensive spells like Flare of Denial, Thwart, and Commandeer—protects Vivi during critical storm turns. While the list does not rely on infinite combos, recursive engines like Underworld Breach and Lier, Disciple of the Drowned allow you to reuse spells from the graveyard, quickly chaining through the library to burn out the entire table across a single overwhelming turn cycle.
