Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Dragon-treasure combo deck built to weaponize Smaug the Impenetrable's damage trigger. The plan is to ramp into Smaug, let haste put an 8/7 indestructible Dragon into play immediately, then turn every noncombat damage event into a flood of Treasure tokens via Pyrohemia, Blazing Sunsteel, Cut Propulsion, and Self-Destruct. Those Treasures are both mana and ammunition: Reckless Fireweaver, Ingenious Artillerist, Weftstalker Ardent, Mirkwood Bats, Agent of the Iron Throne, and similar payoffs convert token generation and sacrifice into table-wide damage. Torment of Hailfire and Crackle with Power are infinite-mana sinks, while Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, and Knuckles the Echidna provide alternate artifact-count victories. The deck is a focused, mid-speed combo engine with a heavy commander tax: most of its best lines require Smaug to survive and trigger.
