Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, focusing on big mana acceleration and scaling X-cost spells. The deck uses efficient two-mana ramp spells and mana rocks to deploy Zaxara on Turn 3. Once active, Zaxara acts as both a mana doubler and a token generator, creating large Hydra tokens whenever an X-spell is cast. The deck converts this mana advantage into overwhelming card draw through engines like Garruk's Uprising, Up the Beanstalk, and The Great Henge. By Turns 5 to 6, the deck leverages mana multipliers such as Nyxbloom Ancient, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, and Elementalist's Palette to generate explosive amounts of mana. It closes games around Turn 7 using devastating finishers like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or an overwhelming combat swing facilitated by Finale of Devastation and Herald of Secret Streams. The deck features solid interaction and protection, though it relies on card flow rather than tutors to assemble specific finishers.
