Deck overview

This deck uses Licia, Sanguine Tribune as a life-powered threat. Small life-gain creatures and enchantments reduce her cost, grow her, and support payoffs such as Ajani's Pridemate, Voice of the Blessed, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, and Archangel of Thune. The deck can also reach high life totals for Test of Endurance and Felidar Sovereign. Its main strengths are redundant life-gain triggers, lifelink, strong creature scaling, and a few efficient protection effects. Its main problems are slow assembly, limited card selection, expensive spells, and the absence of reliable tutors or a compact combo. Licia does not itself draw cards or provide evasion, so a large commander still may not connect. The deck is best at developing a resilient creature board and winning through a delayed life-total payoff or combat, rather than racing competitive strategies or creating a hard lock.
