Deck overview

This Dimir control deck uses Jon Irenicus, Shattered One to weaponize high-stat creatures with devastating drawbacks. By donating creatures like Rotting Regisaur, Desecration Elemental, Archfiend of the Dross, and Taniwha to opponents, the deck turns personal liabilities into catastrophic burdens for the rest of the table. Jon buffs these creatures with +1/+1 counters, goads them permanently, and grants sacrifice immunity, forcing opponents to bludgeon one another while stripping their own boards, hands, and life totals. Every attack made by a gifted creature draws you additional cards, creating an overwhelming card advantage engine. A dense suite of countermagic and pillowfort enchantments like Propaganda and Crawlspace protects your life total and ensures survival until the final 1v1 duel, where remaining threats are cleaned up for the win.
