Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula leads a Grixis Spellslinger and Voltron deck that turns combat into an explosive spell-doubling engine. The game plan focuses on deploying Azula on Turn 4 and declaring combat on Turn 5. When Azula attacks, her firebending 2 ability generates {R}{R} during combat, while her triggered ability copies every spell cast while attacking. By casting inexpensive combat cantrips and pump spells like Fists of Flame, Bulk Up, and Shadow Rift, the deck rapidly inflates Azula's power into lethal commander damage while drawing cards and replacing spent resources. Support creatures like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality generate massive mana and card advantage from cast and copied spells. The deck protects its commander using efficient redirection and countermagic such as Bolt Bend and Stubborn Denial. Without infinite combos, it systematically eliminates opponents over successive combat turns, closing the game around Turn 7.
