Deck overview

This deck is a ruthless mono-black resource-denial and theft engine commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan accelerates mana rapidly through 0–1 CMC rocks and black rituals to deploy Tergrid ahead of curve, then resolves symmetrical discard and sacrifice spells like Dark Deal, Delirium Skeins, and Pox. Because Tergrid steals every nontoken permanent card discarded or sacrificed by opponents, a single mass-discard spell strips all three opposing hands while flooding your board with opposing lands, creatures, and artifacts. Stax pieces like Contamination, Chains of Mephistopheles, and Bottomless Pit maintain a total chokehold on opposing development. In addition to overwhelming combat and drain damage via stolen permanents, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Tinybones, Trinket Thief, the deck carries a compact two-card infinite win condition in Professor Onyx plus Chain of Smog to drain the entire table instantly.
