Dimir Selfcontrol by iTankmate

Format: Commander

Commander: Ertai Resurrected

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Dimir flash-control deck built around Ertai Resurrected as a reusable, instant-speed answer: his ETB counters spells, activated abilities, or triggered abilities, or destroys a creature or planeswalker, at the price of one card to that trigger's controller. A 13-plus-card blink and undying package - Deadeye Navigator, Displacer Kitten, Phantom Steed, Ghostly Flicker, Essence Flux, and the undying one-drops - re-fires Ertai every turn, and with Naban, Dean of Iteration each trigger doubles. The deck wins through combat rather than infinite combos: Shredder, Shadow Master halves every opponent's life each attack and kills the table in three swings, myriad beaters like Banshee of the Dread Choir and Auton Soldier accelerate the clock, and Triskaidekaphile offers an alternate exactly-thirteen-cards win. Sundial of the Infinite and Discontinuity keep temporary tokens on the board and blank the deck's end-step drawbacks.
