Deck overview

This deck pairs Gimli, Mournful Avenger with a dedicated colorless Eldrazi Spawn and Scion token engine. It focuses on swarming the battlefield with disposable tokens from sources like Writhing Chrysalis, Awakening Zone, and Emrakul's Hatcher. These tokens serve dual purposes: providing temporary bursts of colorless mana and triggering death-based abilities when sacrificed. Gimli grows into a massive combat threat while fighting down problematic opposing creatures whenever three friendly creatures die in a single turn. Simultaneously, passive damage outlets like Impact Tremors, Glaring Fleshraker, and Goblin Bombardment whittle down opponents' life totals with every entering and dying creature. To close out games, the list leverages wide-board overruns through Decimator of the Provinces and End-Raze Forerunners, or burns out the table in large bursts with Vicious Shadows and Skittering Invasion.
