Deck overview

This Simic deck executes a classic tempo aggro strategy centered on Edric, Spymaster of Trest. The primary game plan begins in the opening turns by deploying a dense swarm of low-cost, evasive creatures such as Slither Blade, Flying Men, and Cloud Pirates. Once Edric enters the battlefield on turn 3, these unblockable attackers connect with opponents to draw multiple cards each turn, rapidly refilling your hand. The deck converts this massive card velocity into overwhelming board presence and holds up cheap interaction—like Spell Pierce, An Offer You Can't Refuse, and Heroic Intervention—to protect its fragile army from removal and sweepers. With mana acceleration from Druids' Repository and mana elves, the deck pivots into game-ending combat buffs such as Beastmaster Ascension, Triumph of the Hordes, and overloaded Scale Up by turn 5. Without extra-turn spells, it systematically eliminates opponents over consecutive combat steps while maintaining counterspell shields.
