Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a dedicated Combo Reanimator strategy commanded by Old Stickfingers. The primary game plan revolves around assembling Necrotic Ooze on the battlefield while Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar rest in the graveyard. Because Necrotic Ooze gains only activated abilities, it activates Asmodeus's draw ability to draw seven cards without suffering the life loss or exile clause of Asmodeus's static replacement effect. By discarding cards to Skirge Familiar's mana ability, the deck draws its entire library, generates arbitrary black mana, and executes the table with Walking Ballista pings on Turn 4. The deck uses efficient Golgari interaction like Assassin's Trophy, Abrupt Decay, and Culling Ritual to clear opposing obstacles while utilizing backup win conditions like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord flinging a massive Lord of Extinction.
