Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari aristocrats combo strategy helmed by Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons. The game plan revolves around placing -1/-1 counters on creatures to trigger Hapatra and generate an army of 1/1 deathtouch Snake tokens. These tokens fuel potent card-draw engines like Skullclamp and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, establish board control via deathtouch combat trades and attrition engines like The Serpent Society, and ultimately assemble instant-speed infinite win conditions. The deck's primary kill combines Hapatra with Blowfly Infestation and a drain payoff such as Obelisk Spider, Mirkwood Bats, or Poison-Tip Archer to drain all opponents simultaneously. Strong redundancy through Nest of Scarabs and secondary lines like Devoted Druid plus Quillspike provide high resilience against disruption, backed by efficient interaction and protection spells.
