Deck overview

This deck pairs Eluge, the Shoreless Sea with a critical mass of 20 copies of Sphinx's Approach to generate an explosive draw and cheat engine. Eluge's attack and entry triggers distribute flood counters onto basic lands, turning them into cumulative cost reducers for the deck's instant-speed spells. Once multiple copies of Sphinx's Approach reach the graveyard, they exile themselves to tutor heavy-hitting Sphinx payoffs such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign or Sphinx of the Chimes directly into play. Sphinx of the Chimes leverages the deck's high density of identically named spells to discard duplicate copies and churn through four cards per activation. Backed by cheap, premium countermagic and split-second protection, the deck rapidly empties its library to achieve a deterministic same-turn victory with Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries.
