Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis midrange engine commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It accelerates into an early Sauron using an efficient suite of two-mana artifacts. Once on the battlefield, Sauron punishes opponents for casting spells by amassing an Orc Army, then turns combat connections into explosive card advantage by discarding your hand to draw four new cards whenever the Ring tempts you. The deck leverages nine copies of Nazgûl and Lord of the Nazgûl to create a wide, scaling threat base with deathtouch and evasion. Built-in Ward protection on the commander forces opponents to expend legendary resources to interact, while powerful sweepers like Cyclonic Rift, Living Death, and Blasphemous Act clear opposing boards. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat damage boosted by double strike and trample enablers.
