Deck overview

This is a high-powered, general-purpose Grixis spellslinger deck centered on Fire Lord Azula. Its best ordinary engine is Fire Lord Azula attacking while Archmage Emeritus is in play. A cheap instant such as Opt is then cast during the attack, copied by Azula, and amplified by Emeritus's magecraft triggers. The resulting card flow supports rituals, Treasures, counters, and damage spells. The deck also has strong acceleration from Sol Ring, Chrome Mox, Lotus Petal, Mox Amber, Dark Ritual, and several two-mana rocks. Its main weakness is that value generation is much more reliable than table-wide lethality. Comet Storm and Exsanguinate are powerful outlets, but the list does not consistently create enough mana for a three-player kill. The deck can threaten a player or build a dominant hand, but it does not present a dependable compact finish.
