Deck overview

This deck leverages Ozai, the Phoenix King as both a high-power combat threat and a persistent red mana battery. By converting unspent mana into retained red mana across phases and turns, Ozai turns firebending combat triggers and explosive rituals into massive mana reserves. The primary plan ramps into Ozai on Turn 4, swings immediately to bank firebending mana, and crosses the six-mana threshold to gain flying and indestructible. On Turn 5, this banked mana fuels game-ending extra combat chains through Aggravated Assault, Relentless Assault, and Great Train Heist, or lethal burn spells like Crackle with Power and Torment of Hailfire. The deck protects its commander using efficient free redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Not of This World. If Ozai is answered, backup engines like Neheb, the Eternal and Avatar Roku, Firebender sustain the high-mana assault with minimal delay.
