Deck overview

Alela, Cunning Conqueror headlines a Dimir flash-tempo control deck designed to operate almost entirely on opponents' turns. The strategy casts instant-speed interaction and flash creatures to trigger Alela, producing a swarm of 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue tokens while holding up mana for reactive plays. As these evasive creatures connect in combat, Alela's goad ability disrupts enemy combat steps and forces opponents' attackers against one another. Card advantage engines such as Wavebreak Hippocamp, Voracious Tome-Skimmer, and Enduring Curiosity keep resources full, ensuring continuous counterspell and removal coverage. Once a critical mass of fliers is established, the deck pivots into a lethal win through explosive payoffs like Shadow Puppeteers, Notorious Throng, or kindred drain from Obyra, Dreaming Duelist and Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor. The deck combines efficient stack control with resilient evasive pressure to outlast and eliminate the table.
