Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Boros Voltron strategy helmed by Lightning, Army of One. The primary game plan revolves around rapidly deploying equipment and attaching massive stat buffs such as Colossus Hammer and Wrecking Ball Arm using cost-cheaters like Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist and Forge Anew. Once equipped, Lightning attacks on Turn 4 to trigger her Stagger ability, which doubles all subsequent damage dealt to the defending player and their permanents until your next turn. The deck capitalizes on this debuff by chaining additional combat steps with cards like Relentless Assault, Seize the Day, Genji Glove, and Aurelia, the Warleader, or by spreading massive commander damage table-wide via Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. A robust Sunforger package provides on-demand access to protection such as Boros Charm and removal like Swords to Plowshares, while equipment tutors ensure high operational consistency across every game.
