Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa, focusing on Zombie typal synergy, token generation, and aristocrat drain engines. The primary strategy involves deploying low-cost Zombie lords and utility creatures during the early turns, establishing Gisa on Turn 4 or 5, and then sacrificing large or boosted creatures to flood the board with 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck turns this swarm into lethal pressure through anthems like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Liliana's Mastery, alongside life-draining payoffs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Dead. While it boasts strong creature control via Noxious Ghoul and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, the deck relies heavily on combat and sorcery-speed setup. Without fast mana or tutors, it plays a fair, grindy game that is susceptible to board wipes and artifact-based strategies.
