Deck overview

This mono-black control deck revolves around Avacyn, Angel of Horror, utilizing her unique delayed-recursion ability to transform combat trades, sacrifice outlets, and sweepers into an overwhelming resource engine. In the early game, the deck establishes its mana base through Swamps, cost-reducers like Jet Medallion, and dedicated mana multipliers like Cabal Coffers and Gauntlet of Power. Once sufficient mana is available, deploying Avacyn allows the pilot to repeatedly sacrifice high-impact nontoken creatures like Kokusho, the Evening Star, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Solemn Simulacrum, recurring them at the next end step to steadily drain opponents while maintaining total board presence. Symmetrical board wipes such as Damnation become entirely one-sided under Avacyn. The deck closes games through massive cumulative drain triggers or a decisive Exsanguinate fueled by massive black mana production.
