Deck overview

This mono-blue deck combines classic control, tempo creatures, and extra-turn spells under the helm of Barrin, Master Wizard. Rather than chasing fast combos, the deck controls the pace of combat using defensive bodies like Wall of Air, Giant Tortoise, and Old Man of the Sea, while disrupting key opposing threats with counterspells and Barrin's sacrifice-bounce engine. Mid-to-late game progression focuses on deploying evasive flyers like Mahamoti Djinn, Air Elemental, and Serendib Efreet, leveraging extra turns from Time Warp, Capture of Jingzhou, and Temporal Manipulation to press an attack advantage. Symmetrical stax cards like Stasis and Energy Flux can temporarily halt opposing momentum. Without dense tutoring or infinite loops, the deck plays an honest, retro-flavored tempo game that grinds out value, manages opposing commanders, and finishes tables through sustained aerial damage.
