Format: Commander

Commander: Alania, Divergent Storm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Alania, Divergent Storm is a five-mana Izzet spellslinger engine: she doubles one chosen instant, sorcery, or Otter spell every turn. The deck's primary plan is to ramp her out early, use her copy on a draw spell to refuel, then finish with a copied X burn spell that kills all opponents. Secondary paths lean on Expropriate for extra turns and on copy loops such as Dualcaster Mage + Three Steps Ahead. There is no hidden commander; the double-faced Rowan/Will and Primal Amulet are flexible value pieces, with Will's -3 draw and Wellspring's double-copy serving as accelerators. Alania is the deck's main multiplier, but enough independent draw and burn exists to keep the deck working when she is unavailable.
