Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai political control deck commanded by Zedruu the Greathearted. Its primary strategy revolves around establishing early mana acceleration and pillowfort defenses such as Ghostly Prison and Propaganda before deploying Zedruu. Once active, the deck donates harmless permanents or devastating 'bad gifts' like Steel Golem, Aggressive Mining, and Pyromancer's Swath to disrupt specific opponents and fuel a massive card-drawing engine during upkeep. In addition to disruptive gifts, the deck leverages forced combat mechanics including goad and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos to whittle down opposing life totals while remaining untouched behind damage prevention and pillowfort enchantments. The primary path to victory is Approach of the Second Sun, which the deck can rapidly cycle into and recast within two turn rotations thanks to Zedruu's draw power.
