Deck overview

This is a Nethroi, Apex of Death Reanimator deck built around aggressive self-mill, graveyard filling, and the commander's mutate trigger to explosively reanimate a board of creatures with total power 10 or less. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard through cards like Aftermath Analyst, Ripples of Undeath, Doom Whisperer, and Life from the Loam, then mutate Nethroi onto a small creature to return a lethal pile of value pieces, drain engines, or combo lines. The deck wins through incremental drain from Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or through infinite loops involving Protean Hulk, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Viscera Seer, and Saffi Eriksdotter. With over 18 reanimation effects, the deck is exceptionally resilient to individual creature removal, but remains heavily dependent on its graveyard as a resource.
