Hermes V2 (Mono Blue, Spells, 25€) by user3770992

Format: Commander

Commander: Hermes, Overseer of Elpis

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hermes, Overseer of Elpis is the heart of a mono-blue flier token deck: every noncreature spell generates a Bird, and attacking Birds scry. The primary plan is to cast cheap instants, sorceries, and noncreature permanents each turn, multiplying the token stream with Talrand, Murmuring Mystic, and Docent of Perfection while drawing heavily. The secondary, near-equal plan is a control-tempo line: hold countermagic and bounce, draw cards, then convert the accumulated instant/sorcery count into a lethal combat via Candlekeep Inspiration or anthem effects. Talrand and Murmuring Mystic function as hidden engines if Hermes is answered. The deck has no infinite combos; it wins by flying combat.
