Deck overview

Kardur, Doomscourge leads a Rakdos goad deck that turns opposing creatures against one another. The main plan is to deploy Kardur, Doomscourge, force a combat through his enter-the-battlefield trigger, and sustain pressure with Rite of the Raging Storm, Goblin Spymaster, Bothersome Quasit, and other goad effects. Deaths can drain opponents through Kardur, Doomscourge, while Professional Face-Breaker, Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer, and Grenzo, Havoc Raiser convert combat into mana or cards. The deck also has unusually strong acceleration and a solid removal package. Its main weakness is that combat pressure does not become a reliable table kill. Opponents can block, remove the key enchantments, ignore combat with noncombat plans, or rebuild after a forced attack. Torment of Hailfire and mass-damage combinations are real late-game possibilities, but they are not assembled consistently enough to define the ordinary clock.
