Deck overview

This deck is a Temur Voltron and Token Swarm strategy built around Xyris, the Writhing Storm. The primary game plan ramps into Xyris by turn 4, then untaps on turn 5 to attack with combat pump spells such as Become Immense, Invigorate, and Temur Battle Rage. When Xyris connects, its combat damage trigger draws massive amounts of cards for you while forcing the defending opponent to draw equal cards, immediately flooding your battlefield with 1/1 green Snake tokens. The explosive card draw refills your hand with efficient 1-mana protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Blossoming Defense to safeguard your board. Over the subsequent two turn cycles, the expanding snake army and commander damage overwhelm the table. While the deck boasts immense burst draw and resilient targeted protection, it is heavily reliant on its commander and vulnerable to board sweepers and counterspells during its setup turns.
