Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck leverages Fire Lord Azula to turn combat into a high-velocity spell-copying engine. Supported by 12 pieces of low-cost mana ramp, Azula consistently hits the board on Turn 3 and attacks on Turn 4, generating two free red mana via Firebending 2. While Azula is attacking, any spell cast is automatically duplicated, supercharging inexpensive combat cantrips, evasion spells, and power multipliers like Unleash Fury, Bulk Up, and Titan's Strength. This allows the deck to eliminate one opponent at a time with 21+ commander damage starting on Turn 4, closing out the game by Turn 6. Alongside Voltron pressure, the list features potent Magecraft engines like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Sedgemoor Witch that convert duplicated spells into substantial card draw, mana bursts, and wide token boards. A dense package of 1-2 CMC counterspells and redirection effects shields Azula during her attack windows.
