Deck overview

This Sultai X-spell toolbox is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, a commander that acts as both a mana engine and a token factory. The deck's primary game plan is to ramp into Zaxara, then chain X-cost spells-especially hydras-to generate enormous +1/+1-counter-fueled creatures. Counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Unbound Flourishing turn each X spell into a massive board presence. The deck wins through combat with unblockable hydras (Herald of Secret Streams, Rogue's Passage), massive life-drain spells (Exsanguinate), or the alt-win condition Simic Ascendancy. Its value engine is the commander's mana ability and the free hydra tokens, but it lacks the tutors and fast combo lines of higher-tier builds.
