Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord helms a Grixis midrange deck dedicated to the Amass mechanic and Ring-tempting triggers. Sauron punishes opponents for casting spells by amassing Orc armies and converts unblocked Army combat damage into repeated four-card wheels. The early game establishes incremental amass engines like Dreadhorde Invasion and March from the Black Gate, while granting armies evasive keywords with Gleaming Overseer and Orcish Siegemaster. Once Sauron resolves, the constant influx of fresh cards fuels relentless mid-to-late game board development, culminating in lethal combat damage from massive Orc armies alongside Sauron and The Balrog, Durin's Bane.
