Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is piloted by Sorin of House Markov // Sorin, Ravenous Neonate, focusing on weaponizing lifegain, passive drain, and asymmetric board disruption. The early game establishes defensive taxing permanents such as Blind Obedience, Authority of the Consuls, and Aura of Silence to impede fast aggressive starts and artifact ramp. Concurrently, low-cost lifegain engines trigger Sorin's transformation, creating Food tokens and generating board presence while drawing through the deck using Black Market Connections and Well of Lost Dreams. The primary route to victory is assembling an infinite life-drain loop pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Marauding Blight-Priest, terminating all opponents simultaneously in 0 response cycles. Backup plans leverage high-impact life halving and burst damage through Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Tree of Perdition, and Bolas's Citadel.
