Deck overview

This deck leverages The Ur-Sphinx to pilot a high-powered Esper kindred control strategy. Built around cost reduction, efficient ramp, and massive flying threats, it uses Eminence to accelerate expensive Sphinxes into play well ahead of schedule. Early turns establish mana rocks and cost reducers like Urza's Incubator, transitioning into explosive mid-game draw engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx. The deck locks down opposing ground combat using Moat and Magus of the Moat while swinging over defenses with huge winged beaters. Free countermagic, uncounterable spells, and phasing protection like Teferi's Protection and Clever Concealment keep the board insulated from sweepers. With game-warping bombs like Magister Sphinx, Breach the Multiverse, and The Ur-Sphinx, the deck dominates the battlefield and closes out games through overwhelming aerial damage.
