Deck overview

This Sultai deck helmed by Teval, the Balanced Scale is a graveyard-focused combo-midrange build that pairs high-velocity win conditions with resilient grind engines. The primary victory route leverages the two-card combo of Witherbloom Apprentice and Chain of Smog, targeting yourself with Chain of Smog to generate infinite Magecraft triggers and drain the entire table on Turn 4. The deck features layered backup plans via Protean Hulk reanimation into Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Walking Ballista, as well as Gravecrawler sacrifice loops. While assembling its combos, Teval, the Balanced Scale mills cards, recurs lands, and creates 2/2 Zombie Druid tokens to generate steady board presence and mana. Efficient interaction, reanimation spells, and asymmetric hate pieces like Collector Ouphe and Dauthi Voidwalker keep opponents disrupted while securing a fast, protected finish.
