Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent fuses treasure accumulation with explosive combat steps. The commander creates a Treasure each upkeep and deals damage equal to your treasure count when it attacks, turning every artifact token into a direct threat. The deck amplifies that damage through effects like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and City on Fire, then chains extra combat phases via Aggravated Assault, Godo, Bandit Warlord, and Karlach, Fury of Avernus to multiply Smaug's attacks in a single turn. Backup win conditions include Purphoros, God of the Forge for mass ETB burn and Hellkite Tyrant's alternate artifact-count victory. The strategy is straightforward: build a critical mass of Treasures, deploy damage multipliers, and overwhelm opponents with repeated hasty strikes.
