Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy led by Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound. The primary game plan revolves around utilizing Ashling's mana-acceleration ability to cast high-mana-value spells ahead of curve. Once transformed on turn 3, Ashling provides two mana each turn dedicated to spells with mana value 4 or greater. This acceleration enables early deployment of powerful engine pieces like Thousand-Year Storm, Double Vision, and Archmage of Runes. The deck controls the board with flexible countermagic and burn spells while filtering through the library with cantrips and looting effects. The endgame focuses on executing an explosive burn turn, chaining copy effects such as Storm King's Thunder or Increasing Vengeance into massive damage spells like Explosive Welcome, Creative Outburst, or scalable X-spells, frequently doubled by Solphim, Mayhem Dominus or spread across the table by Imodane, the Pyrohammer.
