Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mardu Vampire tribal and aristocrats build commanded by Edgar Markov. The primary game plan leverages Edgar's Eminence ability, which creates a 1/1 black Vampire creature token whenever you cast a Vampire spell from the command zone or battlefield. By filling the early curve with low-cost Vampires, the deck builds a wide, threatening board presence by Turn 3 without ever needing to cast its commander. On Turns 4 and 5, the deck transitions into lethal aggression using powerful tribal anthems like Shared Animosity, combat triggers from Sanctum Seeker, or direct aristocrat drain effects from Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant. Premium Mardu interaction spells such as Swords to Plowshares, Anguished Unmaking, and Deadly Rollick remove critical opposing threats, while protection like Clever Concealment and Flawless Maneuver insulates the swarm from board wipes. As an alternate finish, the deck includes a two-card infinite life drain loop featuring Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
