Deck overview

This Boros life-gain build is helmed by Bre of Clan Stoutarm, a 4/4 that turns lifegain into free spellcasting. The primary game plan is to gain life each turn - through lifelink creatures, life-gain triggers, and combat - then use the commander's end-step ability to exile cards and cast spells with mana value equal to or less than the life gained that turn. The deck backs this engine with a modest suite of Boros removal, a few board wipes, and a collection of high-cost bombs like Etali, Primal Storm and Zetalpa, Primal Dawn that can be cheated into play. Wins materialise through incremental combat damage, often fuelled by double-strike and lifelink effects from True Conviction or Blade Historian.
