Kaalia by user2355844

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast is the engine and primary win line of this Mardu beatdown deck: the deck ramps to cast her, gives her haste, and turns one combat step into a free Angel/Demon/Dragon. The secondary path is a fast 20/20 via Dark Depths with Vampire Hexmage or Thespian's Stage, while Reya Dawnbringer, Rakdos Joins Up, and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel provide recursion. Aurelia, the Warleader's extra combat and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight's damage doubling convert the swarm into table-wide damage; Chandra's Ignition can close multiple opponents at once. There is no hidden commander or double-faced commander plan; Archangel Avacyn is a utility/protection piece. The deck is heavily combat-dependent and has no counterspells, so wins are board-based rather than stack-based.
