Deck overview

This Gruul Landfall deck centers on Phylath, World Sculptor to convert basic land ramp into overwhelming combat power. By establishing five to six basic lands on early turns through efficient ramp spells like Cultivate and Farseek, the deck casts Phylath on Turn 4 to create a wide army of Plant tokens. Subsequent Landfall triggers from fetchlands and multi-land search spells like Traverse the Outlands distribute four +1/+1 counters per trigger, rapidly growing Plants into towering threats. The deck breaks stalemates by granting trample and haste through Garruk's Uprising and Cactusfolk Sureshot, while heavy draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise and Return of the Wildspeaker refill the hand based on the highest creature power. Backup finishers such as Avenger of Zendikar and Omnath, Locus of Rage ensure consistent offensive pressure even if the commander is removed, delivering decisive table elimination around Turn 7.
