Deck overview

This Mono-Black Aristocrats deck is commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, an 8-mana powerhouse that returns any nontoken creature you control that dies back to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. The deck operates by establishing early sacrifice outlets and drain payoffs before leveraging recursive edict creatures such as Accursed Marauder, Fleshbag Marauder, and Demon's Disciple to systematically dismantle opposing creature boards. Supported by asymmetric stax pieces like Leyline of the Void and Mornsong Aria, the deck starves opponents of resources while building overwhelming board advantage. It closes games through relentless drain triggers, commander combat damage from an 8/8 flying deathtouch body, or alternate win conditions like Revel in Riches and Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival. Highly resilient against destruction sweepers, it provides sustained, grinding table control.
