Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color tribal control and pillowfort build centered on Reaper King. It leverages the changeling mechanic to turn low-cost Shapeshifter creatures into repeatable destruction triggers that target any opposing permanent. The deck protects its life total and stalls aggressive opponents using dense defensive enchantments like Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, Collective Restraint, and Smoke. Once Reaper King enters the battlefield, every subsequent changeling or scarecrow eliminates key opposing threats, commanders, or mana sources. To close out games, the deck can pump its creature swarm with Mirror Entity, resolve a large Exsanguinate, channel infinite colored mana from the Grand Architect and Pili-Pala combo into Helix Pinnacle, or simply grind opponents down through asymmetric permanent destruction. While the deck possesses oppressive board control and solid artifact protection via Leonin Abunas and Cryptothrall, its low land count, high density of tapped lands, and sparse instant-speed interaction make it vulnerable to fast combo strategies and early disruption.
