Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger polymorph strategy commanded by Neera, Wild Mage. The primary game plan revolves around ramping into Neera by Turn 5 or 6, then casting low-cost 1-mana instants and sorceries such as Opt, Ponder, and Samut's Sprint to trigger Neera's ability. By tucking these inexpensive spells to the bottom of the library, Neera reveals cards until hitting a nonland card and casts it for free, effectively polymorphing cheap cantrips into massive high-impact threats like Darksteel Colossus, Ovika, Enigma Goliath, and Rite of the Dragoncaller. The deck supports this engine with abundant scry and surveil effects to manipulate the top of the library, alongside efficient spot removal and counterspells to disrupt opponents and protect key permanents. While Neera introduces some variance, the presence of hard-hitting creatures, token generators, and damage amplifiers like Gratuitous Violence allows the deck to build overwhelming boards and close out games through decisive combat steps.
