Deck overview

The Lord of Pain is a Rakdos attrition engine that stops lifegain and punishes every player's first spell each turn. The deck is built to convert that ongoing damage into a kill with Wound Reflection, Sulfuric Vortex, Grievous Wound, and Fiery Emancipation, while a fast alternate win hides in Pyromancer's Goggles plus Increasing Vengeance copying a burn spell for lethal damage. The commander pressures life totals and disables lifegain, but the deck doesn't need him for its combo; removal and hand disruption clear the way while the drain spells grind opponents down. There is no hidden commander; the 99 exists to support the Lord of Pain's life-loss plan.
