Deck overview

This Grixis midrange deck harnesses Sauron, the Dark Lord to generate overwhelming combat pressure and card velocity. Built heavily around Lord of the Rings mechanics, the deck amasses a massive Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells, then converts combat connections into fresh hands of four cards through Ring temptation triggers. A dedicated package of nine Nazgûl provides compounding +1/+1 counters across all Wraiths whenever the Ring tempts you, while secondary commanders like Lord of the Nazgûl and Saruman, the White Hand turn noncreature spells into wide token boards. Supported by efficient Grixis interaction, cost-effective board wipes like Toxic Deluge, and counter retention through The Ozolith, the list steadily grinds down opponents before closing the game via overwhelming combat damage enhanced by Orcish Siegemaster or Assault on Osgiliath.
