Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Polymorph Control build led by Jace, Multiverse Architect. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating early mana with 2-CMC artifacts, establishing low-cost token generators, and deploying the commander on Turn 4. Jace's -3 ability, alongside mass polymorph effects like Mass Polymorph and Synthetic Destiny, turns disposable tokens into format-warping high-CMC monsters such as Archfiend of Despair, Hullbreaker Horror, Craterclaw Colossus, and Serra's Emissary. The deck controls the pace of the game using potent combat taxes, efficient countermagic, and free commander interaction like Deflecting Swat and Flawless Maneuver. Once critical mass is reached on Turn 5, hasty combat damage scaled by artifacts and doubled by Archfiend of Despair closes the game on Turn 6 while Hullbreaker Horror and Serra's Emissary lock out opposing counterplay.
