Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest to transform the classic aristocrats sacrifice engine into an overwhelming combat and attrition force. The deck builds an early foundation using cheap mana dorks, free sacrifice outlets like Carrion Feeder and Viscera Seer, and self-recurring creatures like Bloodghast and Reassembling Skeleton. Once Mazirek lands alongside asymmetric control pieces like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos, every sacrificed creature clears opposing boards while placing +1/+1 counters onto your entire army. Powerful draw engines including Skullclamp and Smothering Abomination maintain card velocity, while drain effects from Blood Artist and Mirkwood Bats punish opponents for attempting to interact. The deck wins by attacking with massive flying and evasive creatures or by completely locking opponents out of creature combat through continuous forced sacrifices.
