Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck harnesses Shadowborn Apostle to bypass high casting costs and deploy devastating legendary Demons directly from the library. Powered by explosive mana acceleration like Dark Ritual, Culling the Weak, Lake of the Dead, and Cabal Coffers, the deck rapidly establishes board dominance by Turn 4. Its primary line searches for Razaketh, the Foulblooded, converting sacrificial creature fodder into pinpoint tutors for win conditions like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Concurrently, the deck wields oppressive stax synergies such as Maha, Its Feathers Night combined with Night of Souls' Betrayal to permanently suppress opposing creature boards. While the commander Avacyn, Angel of Horror provides powerful late-game recursion, the deck operates fully independently through redundant Demon payoffs and aristocrat engines.
