Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Orzhov Aristocrats build commanded by Ratadrabik of Urborg. The strategy centers on leveraging Ratadrabik's ability to turn dying legendary creatures into nonlegendary 2/2 Zombie tokens, effectively doubling or tripling high-impact death triggers. Key payoffs include Kokusho, the Evening Star and Junji, the Midnight Sky, which drain opposing life totals while refilling the board. The deck also contains a potent infinite loop between Ratadrabik and Boromir, Warden of the Tower: Boromir's sacrifice ability triggers the Ring tempting mechanic, turning his generated token copy legendary so it can sacrifice itself repeatedly. Backed by asymmetric attrition cards like Grave Pact and Yosei, the Morning Star, the deck grinds down creature-based opposition. Because ramp and tutor densities are modest, the list relies on sturdy mid-game development, achieving critical threat onset around Turn 6 and closing games reliably by Turn 8 through recurring drain and combat.
