Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Angel Reanimator engine led by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. The strategy leverages cost reducers such as Urza's Incubator and Starnheim Aspirant to cast imposing Angels ahead of curve while stocking the graveyard through card cycling and light self-mill. Once Shilgengar, Sire of Famine hits the battlefield, it converts Angels into Blood tokens to fuel a full-graveyard mass reanimation. This explosive reanimation wave deploys game-ending threats including Lyra Dawnbringer, Baneslayer Angel, and the melded titan Brisela, Voice of Nightmares. Brisela imposes a severe lock by preventing opponents from casting spells with mana value 5 or less, shielding the airborne legion from spot removal and board wipes. The deck controls the tempo of the game using a dense package of board wipes like Austere Command and Damnation. It converts lifegain and aerial dominance into decisive combat victories across two combat phases.
